Hi I can help out with a plan now that I've been rescued! Sent Jenni a text and she seems to be keeping up her spirits - must be the hunky docs I sent over from UCLH!

love,

Barbara

Hi All

Have had a text from Jenni. Her meds were changed this morning and her heart has been having a field day - racing like mad, so she has had lots of docs around. Don't know whether she has seen the consultant yet.

Dear Jenni,
I have only just read your post about the blood test results, etc.
I hope you get great treatment now.
This must be so traumatic, but maybe this time the Doctors
will get things right and be able to help you properly.
Much love to you.

Hi again

Jenni has just phoned.

She has had a bit of a bad day today. Her blood/BP pills were changed this morning because she needs something called a renin test and can't have this whilst she is on her old medicine. Fortunately, the new meds didn't adversely affect her BP, but did make her heart race and she still feels a bit shaky, even though they managed to calm things down eventually.

She has been told that it is either Cimzia or full chemo and a bone marrow transplant. Basically, she is so unwell she has to do something and is going for the Cimzia. As she says, she really has no choice. The Registrar will sit by her bed whilst she has the transfusion and she will receive only what they call the "maintenance" dose until they see how it affects her.

She has had a stomach scan today and now needs a Gastroscopy. She is also having a heart scan.

On a lighter note: The food is apparently crap and she was offered a piece of smelly fish tonight when she had ordered pasta. She had a go at the supervior because they seldom receive the food they have ordered. Just as she was finishing her complaint her Gran arrived! Those of you who have heard about Jen's Gran will know what a formidable lady she is!!! She promptly set about the supervisor too, with Jen's Mum desperately trying to shut her up!!!! Wish I'd been a fly on the wall.

She sends her love to everyone, especially Carol (Grandvoyager) and was very touched by your concern.

Love Jeanxxx

I've been away a few days and had been wondering how Jenni was getting on. So sad to read about her, I really don't know what to say.

Just want to send her all of my love and that I am praying that the Cimzia will work, I am thankful to read that a doctor will be sitting by her while they give it her.

She is long, long overdue some good news regarding her RA.

Love and gentle hugs Jenni

Thank you Jean for letting us know how she is getting on. xxxx

It must be Jenni's turn for some really good luck. It must be reassuring for her that the registrar will be sitting with her, after all she has been through.

Jenni, you are in my thoughts and I'm sending some very positive vibes and hugs your way.

Love Lyn

Hi
Have been texting Jenni over the last couple of days, but thanks for this latest update Jean.

I hope so much that she will be OK with the Cimzia. At least she will be monitored closely with the doctor close by.

She hasnt mentioned colourful neighbours this time, so hopefully she will be getting a little more rest than last time she was in!

At least she wont be served smelly fish again - oh those hospital meals! Will send her a cyber snack immediately.

Please send my love and have some for yourself.

Take care,
Liz

More good wishes and prayers for a good outcome for Jenni. Hope you keep your courage up in hospital during these difficult times. The weather is rotten now so we are saving the rest of our UK Summer for you for when you get back home. Much love.

Hi Jenni

Been thinking about you often even though I haven't been posting. Do hope the Cimzia is a success and you start to feel better very soon. Such a difficult time for you, I feel so helpless and don't even know what to say. In my thoughts,
